The Minister Provincial of  Maltese Franciscan Province of the Order of Friars Minor, Fr. Sandro Overend OFM, and the Secretary of the Province, Fr. Alex Borg OFM, have made a fraternal visit to the friars in Benghazi, Libya from the 25th to the 27th of  February.
Upon their arrival, a concelebrated Mass was held. Bishop Sylvester Magro presided the Celebration at Maria Immacolata Church. Present also for the Mass were the religious sisters in Benghazi. It was followed by a fraternal get-together and simple refreshment.
The second day was spent by the Minister Provincial on individual conference and dialogue with every friar. He also celebrated Masses at the chapels of the October 7th hospital and Benghazi Children’s hospital where the religious sisters serve.

The visitation was concluded by a meeting of the Provincial Minister to the whole fraternity composed of Friars Alan Castillo OFM, Ragheb Marzuok OFM, Jose Palimattom OFM, and Piotr Brokowski OFM. The Minister Provincial celebrated Mass at the sisters’ chapel at Gomhuoriya Hospital before heading to Benina Airport back to Malta. (Alan Castillo OFM)
