The July - August issue of "L-Aħbar" is online as usual. It contains various news items and articles regarding our province and the Franciscan Order. 
Fr. Charles Wickman OFM will be celebrating 50 years of Priesthood on the 29th July 2006. Fr. Charles has been working for various years as a teacher in a local school, giving his services in London. 
Fr. Peter Paul Mielaq OFM, at the age of 85 years, is retiring in Honduras after various years working in this mission. Fr. Mielaq has been Guardian and Master of Students and also Provincial Vicar. After his service in Malta he continued his ministry in Australia, Guatemala and finally in Honduras.
During the months of Summer various friars go abroad to help in the sacrament of reconciliation in various parts in Italy, mainly in Assisi and Rome. Frs. Justin Sciortino and Alex Borg are giving their service in Assisi and Frs. Albert Micallef and Anton Farrugia in the Lateran Basilica in Rome.
