On the 25th of January the Friars of the Province met at the Porziuncola Retreat House in Bahar ic-Caghaq to celebrate the feast of the Province - St. Paul the Apostle, in this special year that marks the 100 anniversary of the Province. Mgr. Sylvester Magro OFM, bishop of Benghasi, presided the Con-celebration in the presence of the Visitator General Fr. Salvatore Ferro OFM. The Minister Provincial offered the homily for the occasion. The friars, then, had a fraternal lunch immediately after Mass. (more…)

Fr. Tonin Vella O.F.M. from Valletta, (worked in Australia, Canada and Honduras) has passed away this morning 8th January 2014, at St. Francis Convent, Ħamrun. He was 87 years old. Tomorrow a concelebrated presente cadavere Mass at 9 .30 am will be held at St. Francis' Church, Hamrun. The interment will be held at the Addolorata cemetry. May the Lord grant him eternal rest. R.I.P.

On Monday 30 December evening the Friars’ parents and relatives gathered at the Porziuncola Retreat House for the annual Christmas meeting. The meeting began with a Mass by the Minister Provincial Fr. Sandro Overend OFM. (more…)
