Fr. Peter Paul (Joseph) Meliak O.F.M. from Nadur, Gozo, (ex-Vicar Provincial, missionary in various countries, ex Master of novices) has passed away this morning 4th April 2013, at Dar tal-Kleru, B'Kara. He was 91 years old. Tomorrow a concelebrated presente cadavere Mass at 9 .30 am will be held at St. Francis' Church, Hamrun. The interment will be held at the Addolorata cemetry. May the Lord grant him eternal rest. R.I.P.

The history of the Franciscan Order during its first two centuries of existence has been the subject of intense research and study. The Sources for the Life of Saint Francis are of fundamental importance to understand the historical background in which the Order of Friars Minor was born and developed.
