For the second year, our Province has organized a Franciscan visit in Malta, this time at the Luqa Parish. This took place between the 21st and the 25th of August and 37 missionaries; 17 Friars Minor, 1 Poor Clare, 12 Franciscan Sisters and 7 lay people participated and made this visit possible. (more…)

The Franciscan students together with the Franciscan Sisters are in full swing organising the Franciscan Visit (Żjara Franġiskana) which this year is going to be held at Ħal Luqa Parish. During these months plans are being made together with Parish Priest and the Parish Council so that the visit could take place between the 21st and the 25th August 2013. Fr. Salvatorre Ferro OFM, from the Ssmo Nome di Gesu’ Province, in Italy (Sicily), has been elected Visitator General of our Maltese Province by the Minister General together with his Definitorium. The Provincial Chapter will be celebrated between the 12th and 16th May 2014. Fr. Salvatore has already contacted the Minister Provincial and will be visiting Malta during the month of August 2013. Let’s thank the Lord for this special grace and let’s us pray for a fruitful visitation and enlightened Chapter in the ways of the Gospel.

The Minister Provincial and the Vicar Provincial, Fr. Sandro and Fr. Richard respectively, have presented a painting to Pope Francis during his last Genereal Audience before the summer recess. The painting represents St. Joseph as the patron Saint of the Universal Church and is a replica of the “Gagliardi” painting to be found in our Church at Rabat. This has been suggested by the Auxiliary Bishop of Malta, Mgr. Charles J. Scicluna. (more…)
