The Minister Provincial Fr. Paul Galea OFM, together with Fr. Stephen Magro OFM, flew to Italy on 8th May in order to meet the Maltese Franciscan Novices, Walter Vassallo and Joseph Ciappara, who are currently living in the novitiate house at San Damiano, Assisi.During the meeting they will review the first six months of the novitiate year, and discuss the written report submitted by the Master of Formation of the Novices in San Damiano. Joseph Ciappara and Walter Vassallo have been in Assisi since September 2005. They have a very good relationship with the community at San Damiano.

During a recent telephone call they spoke of the positive aspect of their experience, which has proved very fruitful and which is helping them to built their Franciscan character on the footsteps of Saint Francis.
