Easter Message from the Minister Provincial

ResurractionMy dear brothers and sisters,
May the Lord give you Peace!

It is a joy and a blessing to experience these days of Grace – the Paschal Triduum. Jesus the Lord, grants us the true life and freedom to live His Resurrection. The humility and the profound suffering of the “Christ” for our conversion and salvation is sealed with His death and Resurrection. We really cannot understand the infinite Love of God.

We can hope to be enlightened in our daily lives especially in hard and difficult times through the power of our Faith enriched with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is true love and also a duty, for us Christians, to remember the sufferings of our neighbours especially the people that are shocked with what happened on Monday’s massive earthquake in the Abbruzzo region in Italy.

Maybe the silent “presence” of our prayers can help the people with tears around the whole world to hope and have the courage and begin again – to feel the power of the Resurrected Christ and experience a new beginning.

“ My God and my all!” (Francis of Assisi) We believe…. and if we are convinced that we believe, then we are truly touched by the Holy Spirit (St. Paul). It would be in vain believing in God, if Jesus Christ was not resurrected! (St Paul).

So my dear brothers and sisters, may we believe in the power of the Risen Christ and feel  the whole of humanity close to us. May Christ, who destroyed the power of evil and sin, bring us blessings and the grace of peace. May all of us hope that suffering is not the last word of our earthly experience because we believe that Jesus Christ is risen today!

Wishing you all a Happy and a Blessed Easter,

Fr  Sandro Overend ofm
Minister Provincial
