Franciscan Walk

As part of the celebrations of the 800 years since the approval of the Franciscan Rule, the whole Franciscan Family organised a ‘Franciscan Walk’ for youth.  The walk started at 9.30am on the 25th October from Sarria Church Floriana. It then proceeded to the Capuchins’ church for the celebration of the Eucharist.  After Mass, the walk proceeded to the Poor Clares in St. Julian where the nuns showed some of the work they do in their monastery.

The nuns performed a small play based on the Canticle of Creatures. After the play, a small snack was given to all participants and the walk then proceeded to Bay Street for an hour and a half of entertainment. To entertain the young people there were three bands.  Our Franciscan Band ‘Ignite’, from Gozo, took part to entertain the participants.  After the entertainment in Bay Street, the Franciscan walk ended at the Millennium Chapter for prayers.
