Sacro Cuor Parish Celebrates 125 Years

madonnasc.jpgOn the occasion of the 125 years since the Franciscan friars began their pastoral work in the Franciscan Parish of Sliema, and the arrival of the Statue of the Virgin Mary of the Sacred Heart, the Franciscan fraternity is going to host a celebration of an “Oratorio” in honour of the Madonna of the Sacro Cuor in the parish church on Wednesday 21 June.

The Manoel Theatre Orchestra will take part, under the guidance of Mro. Joseph Vella. This “Oratorio”, which was
composed by the late Franciscan poet Fr. Marianus Vella OFM, has been performed for the first time in the same church on the 1st of July 1986.
