Two days after Christmas the Friars’ parents accepted the invitation to join in a Christmas reception together with the Friars of the Franciscan Province.
At 6.00 pm the parents gathered at the Porziuncola Retreat House and the evening began with a Mass by the Minister Provincial Fr. Paul Galea OFM, who spoke about the gift of the family and that every friar is thankful for the vocation thanks to the parents who helped us during the initial formation days within the family. The Provincial also told the parents that we, as friars, in a few days time are going to celebrate the Chapter of Mats. This is an important occasion for every friar to renew his vocation in this particular time when the Order is preparing to celebrate it 800 years from the approval of the Franciscan Rule.
After the Mass we gathered in the house refectory and enjoyed the meal prepared! It was another good time to join together Friars and Parents in these special times and chat and joke in a familiar and friendly way.
