The friars gathered at Porziuncola Retreat House at 9am on 8th January 2007. After the celebration of Morning Prayer, Fr. Giacomo Bini OFM presented his talk, centred upon Identity and sense of belonging to the Fraternity.
The talk was followed by a session for questions and clarifications. The friars were then divided into five groups, and went into the workshops to discuss various themes which Fr. Giacomo had presented at the end of his talk.
After the morning session, all participants shared a meal and some time for fraternal encounters. In the afternoon they celebrated Vespers. Every group then presented the conclusions of each workshop in a plenary session. A penitential service followed, in which Fr. Giacomo gave a brief homily on the Scripture readings. During this penitential celebration there was also the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Penance for those who so wished. This penitential celebration concluded the Second Day of the Chapter of Mats, which proved to be an important occasion to enhance the well-being of our Franciscan fraternities.
