The Minister Provincial, Fr. Sandro Overend OFM, has partecipated at the third Meeting of the Minister General and his Definitory with the Apostolic Vicariates, Prefectures, Prelatures, and other missionary territories entrusted by the Holy See to the Order of Friars Minor. The meeting took place at the General Curia from September 29-30. The other two previous gatherings were held in both 2006 and 2008.

The participants were: the Apostolic Vicars of Beni (Bolivia), Requena (Peru), Zamora (Ecuador), San Ramon (Peru), Nuño de Chaves (Bolivia), Benghazi (Libya), Aleppo (Syria), and Galapagos (Ecuador). Also present were the prelates of the Prelature of Aiquli (Bolivia), Nayar (Mexico), the Archbishop of Tangier, and the Bishop of Djibouti. Also in attendance were the Provincial Ministers of the Provinces of St. Francis Solano of Peru, of St. Anthony of Bolivia, St. Paul of Malta, of Jalisco (Mexico), two representatives of the Holy Land, the Custode of Morocco, and the Minister General, Br. José Rodríguez Carballo with the members of the General Definitory. Unfortunately, 3 Apostolic Vicars of Vicariates entrusted to the Order, for various reasons, were not present at this gathering.

Meanwhile, the Provincial took the opportunity to visit Br. Gerald Xuereb who began his year of Novitiate at San Damiano in Assisi. At Fiumicino Airport, at the departure lounge just before his departure for Malta, the Provincial met the students, Br. Ramon, Bro. Clive and Br. Andrea who had just arrived from Malta to begin attending the first year at the “Antonianum” University.
