Easter Time!

EasterThe Paschal Tridum brings with it much liturgical and pastoral work in our Franciscan churches. On Thursday evening every Church will be celebrating the solemnity of the last supper of Christ, with the washing of feet.

This day is also the feast of the Priests because Jesus Christ instituted the Eucharist during this last supper. On Friday at 2.30 in the afternoon the via Crucis takes place in every church, which prepares us to the adoration of the cross at 3pm. In the Rabat and Valletta Churches the procession with various statues representing the passion of Christ takes place in the evening.

Then on Saturday in the evening the Solemn Mass of the Easter Vigil will take place, with all the solemnity that it deserves. The new fire is first blessed and soon after the Exultet will be sung to proclam that Jesus has risenn from death. During this special Mass baptisms will take place in every church.

We would like to wish all our readers a Blessed Easter!
