Feast of the Franciscan Family

Franciscan FeastOn 29 November evening, the Franciscan Family in Malta gathered at CAK Centre in Birkirkara to celebrate Feast of All Saints of the Franciscan Family on the occasion of the confirmation of the Rule of St. Francis by Pope Honorius III on 29 November 1223.  At 1800hrs the Archbishop of Malta Mgr. Paul Cremona arrived and was welcomed by the three Minister Provincials.  Afterwards the Minister Provincial Fr. Paul Galea OFM addressed the Archbishop and welcomed him.

Franciscan FeastSoon after a PowerPoint on the Franciscan Rule was presented.  Then the Archbishop addressed the Franciscan religious on this special day.  His speech was focused on the importance to remain a sign in today’s world through our charisma, to preach the word of God not only by word but also through our actions. He also mentioned the issue of ecology in our Franciscan calling, so that we can point out God as the creator of all living things.

The evening ended up by the Renewal of the Profession on the part of those present.
