Appointed assistant lecturer at the UOM

Fr. Joseph Ciappara ofm, has been appointed assistant lecturer at the University of Malta, in the Faculty of Theology, Department of Sacred Scripture, Hebrew and Greek. He will be lecturing in the Old Testament and the Biblical Languages.

Fr Joseph completed his undergraduate course in Theology at the University of Malta in 2011. In the same year, after his ordination, he left Malta for the Holy Land to specialise in Sacred Scripture at our Franciscan Institute the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem. There he specialized in the Biblical Languages and Biblical Exegesis. In February 2014 he obtained his Licentiate in Sacred Scripture after defending his thesis “Il Sistema Verbale del Fenicio: Analisi di Iscrizioni Scelte”. He is currently reading for a Doctorate degree at the University of Malta.

As a lecturer he will pursue further academic research thus offering his contribution in the area of Biblical and Linguistic studies. He will also be lecturing seminarians and religious candidates to the priesthood thus contributing to their formation to the priesthood.
