At 0900 the friars met as usual at Porziuncola Retreat House for initial prayers, the roll call, and the reading of the minutes of the previous day. The President of the Chapter, Fr. Austin McCormack, gave his reflection upon the election of the new Minister Provincial, Fr. Sandro Overend, and thanked the outgoing Provincial, Fr. Paul Galea, for his service to the Province during the last six years.  He also spoke about the importance to remain faithful to the Franciscan ideals in the province.
The main focus of the day was the discussion in 4 workshops, which centred upon the future of the Maltese Franciscan Province.  All the friars were asked to answer two questions and discuss them together, and come up with suggestions.
