Fr. Noel Muscat is presenting a new paper in the Franciscan studies section of our Province’s website, entitled “Ministerium Fratrum”. It is a study about the Franciscan style of government, and about the concept of authority as service to the brothers, as conceived by Francis in his Writings and in the early Franciscan Sources. The paper ends with a contemporary view of the role of the Order’s hierarchy, vested in the Minister General, the Ministers Provincial, and the local Guardians. The aim of the paper is to provide food for thought and reflection of all the friars in the aftermath of the Provincial Chapter celebrated in May 2008.
