As part of the Franciscan Vocations weekend, on the 20th September, during an evening for benefactors at our Friary in Rabat, the Minister Provincial Fr. Richard S. Grech OFM, blessed a new stained glass window which was placed at the entrance of the area which houses our candidates and friars in initial formation. This work of art depicts the "Canticle of Creatures" composed by St. Francis himself and the idea of having it made was to continue to create a beautiful environment which helps reflection and discernment. Artist Louis Briffa has given us the following interpretation of his project; "The original design was inspired from the Canticle of Creatures of St. Francis of Assisi. The sun, the moon, the stars, the wind, the water, the fire and the land that bears friut ...

On Friday the 22nd of August, 2014, Br. Leo Ciantar ofm celebrated his 25th Anniversary of his Religious Profession in the Order of Friars Minor, with a concelebrated Mass led by the Minister Provincial Fr. Richard Stanley Grech ofm, in thanks giving, at Our Lady of Jesus Church, Valletta. A very good number of friars, priests and members of other religious orders were present, as was his mother, members of his family and a great number of other relatives, friends and benefactors. It was a memorable evening for everybody present. A reception was afterwards held at the Lower Barrakka Gardens in Valletta. Best wishes and blessings to Br. Leo ofm. May this happy occasion also serve to draw other young men to follow Jesus in the footsteps of our dear father Francis of Assisi”.
