The Ex-Minister General and Bishop elect, Mgr. José Rodriguez Carballo OFM, has been in Malta to celebrate the 50th anniversary of St. Joseph’s statue in Rabat – Mdina, Malta, on the invitation of the Arch-Confraternity of St. Joseph in Rabat, Mdina, and the Franciscan OFM Province. He was accompanied by the General Secretary for Formation and Studies, Fr. Vidal Rodriguez OFM, Fr. Joseph Magro OFM, the Communications director at the general Curia, and his personal Secretary, Fr. Fr. Benjamin (Carmelo) Galea O.F.M. from Valletta (ex Provincial Definitor, ex Provincial Bursar, ex Guardian and founder of Porziuncola Retreat House, Bahar ic-Caghaq), has passed away early this morning 18 th Aprl 2013 at Mater Dei Hospital, Tal-Qroqq, Msida. He was 96 years old, the oldest friar of our Province. Tomorrow a concelebrated mass preasente cadavere will be held at 9.30 am at St. Francis' Church, Hamrun. The internment will be held at the Addolorata cemetry. May the Lord grant him eternal rest. R.I.P.

On the Lord’s Prayer ( iii )   .......Let us therefore, brethren beloved, pray as God our Teacher has taught us. It is a loving and friendly prayer to beseech God with His own word, to come up to His ears in the prayer of Christ.  Let the Father acknowledge the words of His Son when we make our prayer, and let Him also who dwells within in our breast Himself dwell in our voice. And since we have Him as an Advocate with the Father for our sins, let us, when as sinners we petition on behalf of our sins, put forward the words of our Advocate. For since He says, that whatsoever we shall ask of the Father in His name, He will give us, John 16:23 how much more do we obtain what we ask in Christ's name, if we ask for it in His own prayer! More
