On Thursday 25th February 1988 Fr. Marjan Vella died at the Franciscan friary of our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Sliema, Malta. He was 60 years old. This year the Maltese Franciscan OFM Province is commemorating the 25th anniversary of the death of this Franciscan poet. (more…)

On the 10th of February the Maltese community in London celebrated the Feast of Saint Paul’s Shipwreck. This venue took place at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Brixton honored by the presence of H.E. Joseph Zammit Tabona, the Malta High Commissioner and his wife Susan. (more…)

St. Ambrose: On the Sacred Mysteries, Chapter 9,54 ........(54). The Lord Jesus Himself proclaims: This is My Body. Mt. 26,26 Before the blessing of the heavenly words another nature is spoken of (bread), after the consecration the Body is signified. He Himself speaks of His Blood. Before the consecration it has another name (wine), after it is called Blood. While on a short visit to Malta to visit family and friends Fr. Charles Michael Grech ofm the Maltese Chaplain in London, reciprocated a courtesy call to H.E. Dr. George Abela President of Malta on the 14th of January 2013. During the meeting, H.E. Dr. George Abela was keen to know more about the Mission of the Franciscan Friars in London that is besides caring for the sick patients, spiritually and socially in various hospitals in and around London sent by the Maltese Government, we cater for the Maltese Franciscan Nuns who besides celebrating the Holy Eucharist both in the mornings and evenings, we make it a point to see the relatives accompanying.
