The Minister Provincial, Fr. Sandro Overend, was invited by the youths of St. Anthony's OFM church in Gozo, to Preside the celebration of the Mass on the third Sunday of Advent. During the celebration the youths, under the spiritual direction of Fr. Joseph Magro OFM, the present guardian of the fraternity, organised a mime offering a deep reflection on the meaning of Christmas and the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in our lives. Joy, that is of Divine origin, is granted to humanity. If we open our hearts to Jesus and communicate with Him, life will change and we will experience the real joy that the world cannot offer. During trials, we still can experience the wonders of the Lord and His presence.

The Minister Provincial, Fr. Sandro Overend OFM together with the Provincial Sectretary, Fr. Alex Borg OFM, have been in Libya visiting the Franciscan Friars that are situated in Benghasi and Tripoli. The Provincial had personal meetings with the Bishops, Mgr. Sylvester Magro OFM in Benghasi and Mgr. Martinelli OFM in Tripoli. The visit and the meetings with the Friars were planned in view of the Maltese OFM mid-term Provincial Chapter to be held here in Malta during the second week of May 2011.

On the 3rd of December, Fr. Walter Vassallo OFM, graduated at the University of Malta after terminating a three year B.A. Theology and Human Studies. Fr. Walter will finish his five year course in two years time. Next year he will be ordained Deacon. We would like to augur Fr. Walter every success in his studies. (more…)

The Peace Lab and its director, Fr. Dionysius Mintoff, OFM have, for the fifth year, organised a Competition during the summer-school 2010 in the State's schools around the Maltese Island. The 360 children that took part in the competition had to draw a painting showing the figure of St. Francis of Assisi and the love for Creation. (more…)
