`Fr. Ramon Farrugia, Fr. Clive Camilleri and Fr. Andrea Diacono have begun their OFM Novitiate at San Damiano in Assisi. They will be guided by the Master of novices, Fr. Massimo Reschilian, OFM and they will be part of the fraternity, having as guardian Fr. Claudio. May St. Francis guide their hearts in the simplicity and the wonderful surroundings of San Damiano. On the 6^th of September our novice Aaron Abdilla made his first profession for a year, which marks the beginning of his first year as a Franciscan Student.  He renewed his vows after completing his year as a novice in Assisi.  Later on this month Aaron, will be beginning his studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Antoniaum – a Franciscan University in Rome. The celebration for the Renewal of Vows started with the Celebration of the Eucharist by the Provincial Minister, Fr. Sandro Overend OFM. It was held at our Franciscan Church in Hamrun, a church which is dedicated to Saint Francis Stigmatised. (more…)

(Video added) The St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation and the Coro Bel Canto in collaboration with the Metropolitan Cathedral Chapter, including our Franciscan Province, are reproducing the Oratorio ‘Demm Fuq il-Verna’. The Oratorio was penned by the late Marjanu Vella and translated into music by Joseph Vella. The drama is going to be held at St. John’s Co-Cathedral on Friday the 17^th of September, feast of the Stigmata of St. Francis of Assisi at 8.00pm.  This event will be held in aid of the Franciscan Mission in Honduras. This is the joy that at times the world is seeking in vain because it gives much importance on material things that, in fact, have got an ending, that pass and leave quite an emptiness. The feast of Saint Clare of Assisi was celebrated on the 11^th of August. The feast was celebrated with a Mass which took place at the Poor Clare’s Monastery at St. Julian’s.  A very good number of people, together with friars from the three Franciscan Orders attended the celebration of the Eucharist which was conducted by the Provincial Minister Fr Sandro Overend OFM.
