Rev. Fr. Dionysius Mintoff OFM, of our Franciscan OFM Province in Malta, will be receiving the " Inaugural award of Human Rights 2010" at the Franciscans International in Geneve. The celebration will be held at the Franciscans International Offices in Geneve on the 9th April 2010.

Fr Cherubin Galea will be today, celebrating his 50th Anniversary of his priesthood. During these years of priesthood he served the province in various convents as sexton and as a confessor. Furthermore on the 14th April Fr. Cherubin and Fr. Norber will lead a Thanks giving Mass at our Franciscan Parish in Sliema. The Province would like to congratulate Fr Cherubin and wish him a heartfelt AD MULTOS ANNOS.

In our daily lives, it is very easy to dictate and to point fingers. Can we find any merit at all in such circumstances? The answer to this is, NO ! Actually, this is really shameful, if we really know what the Gospel is asking of us. Surely it is more laudable, especially in our times, to imitate the humility and caring of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Redeemer. Let's try to reflect what we can do in the coming days. (more…)

On March 23 at Zammit Clapp Hospital, Fr. John Schranz OFM, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church at the age of 88. The funeral leaves from the Franciscan Fathers, in Sliema, Thursday 25th March at 9.15am, for Sacro Cuor Parish, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
