Now that the General Chapter of the Order to be celebrated in Assisi between the 10th of May and the 7th of June is approaching, we are uploading the Letter of the Minister Provincial to the brothers of our Province. Anyone who would like to follow the proceedings of the General Chapter, may do so by logging on to the website of the Order (link). All the friars are very much encouraged to do so, while keeping the Order and the members of the General Chapter in their prayers, that one and all may be open to the guidance and the inspirations of the Holy Spirit.

The Rev. Fr. Sandro Overend ofm, our previous Minister Provincial, Visitor General for the Lithuanian Province of  St. Casimir, has started the first part of his Canonical Visitation. On the 13th April he departed to Rome. On the 15th of April he flew to Lithuania. From there he left heading towards Toronto, Canada. On the 21st of April he went on his way to Boston in the USA and he will commence his return to Malta on the 27th of April, arriving on the 28th of April. It is a very busy and hectic schedule, involving a lot of travelling. But it is very much in the Franciscan spirit of Fraternal service. Fit-18 ta' April l-istudenti tagħna marru ġurnata irtir flimkien mal-fraternità tagħhom, ġewwa l-Kunvent ta' San Franġisk li jinsab Cori (provinċja ta' Latina fil-Lazio) u li nbena fl-1521. Kellhom konferenza dwar is-silta tal-ħasil tar-riġlejn fil-Vanġelu ta' San Ġwann u wara ħin ta' riflessjoni. Dan il-Kunvent kien id-dar tal-Patrijiet tagħna sa sentejn ilu, meta ġie deċiż li jingħata f'idejn assoċjazzjoni biex il-post jinbidel f'dar tal-familja. Dan ifisser li hemm żewġ familji li qed jilqgħu magħom adoloxxenti li ġejjin minn sitwazzjonijiuet difficli u joffrulhom ambjent ta' familja fejn jistghu ikomplu jikbru, jistudjaw, jaħdmu, sakemm isiru indipendenti. Il-Patrijiet tagħna minn kunvent ieħor fil-qrib joffru kull tip ta' għajnuna possibbli.
