The Franciscan Friars (OFM) of St. Paul the Apostle’s Province in Malta are happy to mark the 100th anniversary of their presence’s elevation to a Franciscan (OFM) Province by the Order of Friars Minor. For that occasion, the Minister General, Rev.mo P. Pacifico Monza OFM, travelled to Malta and during an extraordinary Chapter presented the Decree to the newly elected Minister Provincial, the V. Rev Fr. Anton M. Cesal OFM and instituted the first Definitorium. (more…)

For the festivites of the Nativity of our Lady held at the parish of Xaghra, Gozo, Msgr. Robert Camilleri O.F.M. and Msgr. Jose Bonello O.F.M., Maltese franciscan bishops in Honduras, were invited to take part in various celebrations. The climax of this event was a presentation of a cheque of 32,000 euros to Msgr. Bonello - here seen at the Xaghra main square -, who was born in Xaghra, for the needs of his diocese, especially for his seminarians. (more…)

On Sunday 15th September Friars Clive Camilleri and Ramon Farrugia were given the Ministry of Lector by our Minister Provincial Fr. Sandro Overend, during a eucharistic celebration held at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Bahar ic-Caghaq. Mgr. Joe Bonello OFM, Bishop of Juticalpa, Olancho in Honduras was also present and assisted the celebration. (more…)

Between the 2nd and the 6th of September, our students were doing their annual retreat in preparation for their renewal of vows. As part of it's initiatives for the Year of Faith, our Province invited the Conventual and the Capuchin Maltese temporary professed to participate in this years retreat, and the idea was welcomed by their Provincials. The retreat was held at the Porziuncola, our retreat house in Bahar ic-Caghaq, and was described as a very beautiful experience. The preacher was Fr. Alex Refalo from Gozo. (more…)
